@sharinincarmel are you sure. Here are some links

https://www.shirazilaw.com/can-ice-detain-u-s-citizens/

https://emplawfirm.com/can-a-us-citizen-be-detained-by-ice/

However, other sites do add they can arrest for obstruction. But they seem to have no authority to stop for crimes not directly related to immigration.

Haven't you seen/read/heard?  Everything is directly tied to immigration.

They want to investigate the dead woman's girlfriend?  Yeah, that's how I want my tax dollars spent.

This is comical at this point.

That's absolutely incorrect.  The state could 100 percent charge him for murder. The feds 1) can't stop a state investigations, and 2) can't stop an indictment and prosecution in the State of Minnesota.  What's more there's no SOL for murder.  Now the Feds can make things harder, and it would be one hell of an uphill battle, in part because of obstruction in garnering evidence and having to gather it themselves but there is no Federal immunity that prevents a State from charging murder COH.

Google AI:

Federal law enforcement has immunity from state law prosecution for actions taken within their lawful federal duties, derived from the

Supremacy Clause, preventing states from interfering with federal operations; this isn't absolute, applying only when acting reasonably and within scope, and officers can still face state charges for egregious acts outside their duties or federal authority, while qualified immunity protects against civil liability, but states can limit it for state law claims, notes.“

Immunity is absolute if the officer is within the scope and is not unreasonable. (I should have mentioned reasonably above).  Reasonable conduct does not mean culpability, but instead refers to the threshold question about whether the state even has jurisdiction to prosecute.  The conduct in question must be outside the scope and unreasonable.  “And,” not “or”.

@co-hoosier Yep that's my understanding.  So behavior would be egregious, outside the scope, and the fact inquiry etc. would THEN be compared to circumstances, conditions, @arthur-dent @shooter I believe then your training stuff you both are barking about would come into play, etc.

@sharinincarmel

When the facts upon which immunity rests are in dispute  ( reasonableness) the court would conduct a separate and preliminary hearing to determine the issue of immunity.  This hearing would not result in any determination about defendant culpability.  I’m very familiar with how this works under Colorado Immunity law.  Never did a federal case about this exact issue.

You’d rather they be funneled to Somalian terrorists, no doubt.

What other limits do you want to put on the investigation in order save money?

I think it’s worth noting some of the fine people ICE has removed from Minnesota. So, in effect, Mrs Good was protesting the removal of these upstanding people from her community.

It’s wild.  No matter how much fraud, no matter how many rapes, no matter how many murders, no matter how many of them tell us they are here to subjugate us, most Dems will side with the illegals over their fellow Americans.  Truly bizarre.

A whole lot of murder, pedophilia, drug dealing, assault, rape, anything you can think of on that list.

These are the people Renee Good died protesting the removal of.

@hoopsdoc She left behind a little boy for these people.  I don't know what the medicine is to fix the left.  It's a mental health issue.  You can profile them instantly, they have a cult-like behavior with instant predictability as to what will get them to rally, and it's always as oneyed said on behalf of the bad actor, the rule-breaker, etc.  I don't know.  It's not good for the country.

Well, when you put it that way, I guess it's good they shot her in the face.
