@snarlcakes Well, sure. But inre: regime changing empire building, no.

Part of Booty's logic was Trump did it to distract from a failing economy, which is a lie.

@boogie I get that so hence the china/Mexico comment.  The outcome is still the same. Americans abroad especially in South America will not be safer.

How does Maduro remaining in power make them safer?  I think only Syria had more refugees and people displaced than Venezuela.  It's extremely disruptive to any region when millions of people are fleeing a country.

To distract from the Trump-Epstein scandal and cover-up, first, and then from the affordability concerns / economic mediocrity.

Booty didn't say that.  You did.

Obtaining cheap oil is the #1 thing he could do to lower prices.  Why do you think he did this?

Legally, how is this operation different from Noriega?

Is there any question that Venezuela will be better off without Maduro?

The oil infrastructure in Venezuela is apparently in bad enough shape that it will take 5 years or more to restore it, so I guess the open-ended US occupation with go through at least 2031, if oil money is the driver.

I'm sorry, I missed the part where our operation put Guaido - or anyone other than a Maduro flunkie - in power in Venezuela.

Seems the same to me.

The obvious answer is that you'd think Venezuela would be better without Maduro, but we all thought Iraq would be better without Saddam, so let's not count chickens and all that jazz.

China thinks Taiwan is their territory and their political leaders are illegitimate criminals. So I guess it's OK for them to deploy their military to take Taiwan's leaders to a gulag in China. Right?

Yeah, me too. I mean, it's not like there was a 4 year window for the previous administration he worked for to do something about Maduro or anything.

And yeah, that "Maduro Flunkie" will probably just pick right up where he left off I bet. I can't think of anything that's happened recently that might give her any pause at all...just business as usual amirite?

You’re not very good at analogies.  I believe you also claimed to be an 80s/90s era Republican?
