I've said it before, and I'll say it again; you are the GOP version of Laffy/Laughman. He would post crazy shit about how Bush was in on 9/11, American probes were shot down while orbiting Mars, etc. He posted 50-100 times a day, mainly saying the same thing over and over again, and getting into repetitious arguments, then claim everyone else was posting more often. He had 100 of stories from his personal life and college, and used to claim that he had been invited to more weddings, post college, than all the Hoop Loopers put together. He claimed to be the most successful Kinko's worker in more than one city, even though it was obvious he was destitute from losing a few positions. He was entertaining in a train wreck sort of way, though.
@bulk-vh and for hte record i went to school with cortez and have talked to him daily for 25 years. i'd never write something that wasn't true with people i actually know. so i think you know where you can stick your post.

We've had some posters who I thought were possibly mentally ill, but I think Laughman absolutely was. Back then we had our emails in our signatures, and he sent me an extremely long rant in an email that was truly nuts. He then sent an email to me about him being off his meds IIRC. He wasn't normal by any means.
@bulk-vh nah your jealousy permeated your posts for years on the other board with stoll and anyone else who talked aobut actually doing things, spending money, etc. i'm glad you found a way to bring in a few extra bucks. you've always been lumped in with the crowd of others in awe of people doing the most average of things.

That's pretty wild. I've had interactions with various people on these boards over the years, but nothing like that. I remember when having a link to your email address in your signature was a thing. I think I got an occasional email but nothing crazy comes to mind.
I go back and forth as to whether or not the accountability of having your email in your signature would be a good thing for this board. I do think it might curtail some of the nastiness that pops up here from time to time, but I don't think anyone is interested in being cyberstalked with craziness either.

Most of the people were more civil with each other back then. Laffy was an exception. Other emails I got were not a problem at all. For example, COH and I have each emailed each other. It's been a while though.
@aloha-hoosier the quality of posting was also much better. we learned of it in law school. dworkin and other law profs used to post under aliases back then. i'm fairly certain i knew who bethel posted as back then. they were legends on campus
