WSJ is reporting that Trump freaked out after two US airmen were recently shot down over Iran, and he was barred from the Situation Room during the rescue mission to recover the stranded pilot. Aides had serious "concerns over [Trump's] temperament."
That Trump. What a sober, steady Commander-in-Chief!
Behind Trump’s Public Bravado on the War, He Grapples With His Own Fears - WSJ
Think about this for a second. The President of the United States had to be locked out of the Situation Room during a high-stakes military operation because he was pitching a fit.

how do you bar the president? Wonder who is getting fired lol

Because he is their unhinged lunatic and it is party before country.
According to CarRamRod, Netanyahu was in the situation room at the time.how do you bar the president? Wonder who is getting fired lol
Bottom line, you have to admire Trump‘s ability to scream for six hours at his age. Looks like Melania is the man in that relationship.
The door to the situation room

"You can't make someone listen to reason if they aren't willing to think"-- Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451
This opens up, or maybe solidifies beliefs, on all sorts of "auto pen" like possibilities. If anyone thinks the author of all the various ridiculous, rambling, grade school level Truth Social posts is being included in all the high level decisions, briefings, negotiations... well... I feel sorry for you, actually. As absurd of a situation as this is becoming, it actually makes me feel a tad better thinking he probably isn't as involved in all this as a normal human being would be.

I'd say it's Trump before country. What has created this phenomenon? I'd argue that a key factor was Team Trump's early recognition of the power of social media and their masterful use of it dating back to the first campaign. That, in turn, has been the main vehicle for spreading harmful propaganda and engaging in gaslighting that has duped tens of millions of Americans.

That doesn't answer the question posed, though:

An answer won't be forthcoming, Uncle Mark. I imagine it's damned near impossible to provide a rational response. It's easy to talk about Omar, though.
Yeah, I call bullshit on this. If you read the original reporting, you get the impression that Trump was too emotional, and his aides convinced him to stay out of the room during the operation because of his volatility. That's embarrassing enough, but he was still in the loop, getting real-time updates. And at that point, he'd already made the calls that needed to be made, so there was no need for him, anyway. The forces in motion were executing the orders he'd signed off on. At that point, the Situation Room is just a viewing gallery.
But the way it's being described by some of the rereporting, no way. There is no way the CIC was "barred" from the Situation Room. That's just patently ridiculous.
CIC being controlled by underlings is dubious, especially in his case. That he was hysterical and generally prone to hysteria and temper tantrums is not only believable but even evident to the public eye.

Are you implying that an overweight narcissistic, egomaniac with ill will towards any opposition isn't healthy?

Goat makes a fair point, but like you, a Trump temper tantrum is not only realistic, but probable.
