@unclemark i think that slavery also has a deleterious impact on blacks that transcends inheritance etc.  there has to be some inculcated generational national resentmnet.  i mean if you're mcmurtry in appalachia and broke af you can kind of think well i'm a dumbass and it sucks my dad and his dad and his dad were also dumbasses.  but there's no external thing to blame like slavery.  so it's hard not to have some resentment when something immutable like the color of your skin held your people back by the arm of gov

Yes. Now, before they start with the "slavery ended 160 years ago" shit, it has to be said that it was far more and far more recent than that. From Tulsa to Jim Crow to Selma and Birmingham -- and Northern segregation as well -- abject subjugation was the norm up until the last couple of generations. One reason my folks picked up stakes and moved from Indy to armpit southern Indiana in the 60s was they were looking forward to me going to high school and realized I would have been going to Shortridge.

@mcm666 The question I was responding to was the accusation the liberals made it about race, and that's not the case. Race may be a very relevant discussion point, but on this forum, the liberals didn't make it so. I was simply pointing that out.

Any thoughts on genetic & heritable differences between races & the role they play in the condition of blacks worldwide?

Why is there no mention of the perp's race in this thread?

As bad as segregation and Jim Crow were, they were not "abject subjugation." No need to exaggerate it. Slavery is "abject subjugation."

@spartans9312

Let me be clearer. In Cincinnati, simply knowing the race of the people involved was enough for people to start a thread about race, a thread in which they accused others who didn't start such a thread of caring about race and making decision based on race, despite the fact that those people had literally done nothing, and the accusers themselves had started the conversation, with the only knowledge involving race being the fact that the people involved were of particular races.

There was no evidence that race was a factor.

There was no evidence that any of the actors were racists.

There was only evidence that the people involved were members of races, and that was enough.

And the thread started accused the other people, who didn't start threads, of being the ones who cared about race.

This is so fucking ridiculous on its face, it's beyond comprehension. I have no idea what happened in Cincinnati. I have no idea what happened in Traverse City. I know people have been hurt, and violence sucks, and crime should be punished. But if anyone is turning any of this narrative into a story about race, it's not happening on my side of the aisle, so check yourself on that bullshit.

Who brought race into this thread? I will help you….it was Mark. I asked if anyone knew the name of the perp that’s it. You didn’t like the other thread so you wanted to make this about race. That’s a you problem.
