Daughter just swiped a Tesla.  Second accident in 8 months.  Only been driving 1.5 years.  Son turns 16 next April.

Someone tell me how to avoid selling one of my kidneys for insurance going forward.

Are they driving old beaters with only PL&PD coverage?

You’ll survive. My good friend, who got us to Georgia after I coached our sons in baseball, came home from work one evening to find out that both teenage daughters and his bride had all had accidents earlier in the day.

Also, again you might consider yourself lucky. Another friend here clipped or was clipped on a two-lane exit ramp from I-71. He’s challenging, but they’re saying it was his fault. Looking to total his Audi A8L. Potential loss of maybe $90,000. And the damage doesn’t look all that bad.

Not yet. Pulling driving privileges is next up.  Have to see how much the rate goes up.

A Tesla.  That's rough.  I've been told my insurance guy that a Tesla claim is almost double the norm on average.

They totaled the 2025 Impreza delivery car that I was driving when I got hit by a gal who ran a stoplight. She hit me at low speed (low speed for me too) in the right front fender. I was shocked at the $25,000 estimate. Heck, I was able to drive it out of the intersection and later moved it so the wrecker could get a good approach. In fact, I probably could have driven it to the body shop unassisted.

Keep in mind that insurance is a commodity. Don't let inertia or history or loyalty or whatever keep you from taking your business elsewhere.

She already does. But some of that job is driving people’s kids around. More opportunities to wreck
