Gotta remember that about 90% of people don't care about politics as much as we do (who post on a political message board several times a day), and probably half the population doesn't even care about politics at all outside of the couple of weeks before November every 4 years.
As always, it comes down to the universal truth, "It's the economy, duh" (Slight change for my unwritten rule of not directly insulting people).

The original tweet was very selective. It didn't point out that also in the top of the list are states like Maine, new Hampshire, Delaware, or that there are also big losers in red areas like Mississippi and Louisiana.
Another thing the original tweet ignores is that migration between states is actually declining right now because economic conditions are making it more difficult for people to move. So the issue is overblown, anyway, regardless of causes.

Not saying you are wrong, but my gut feeling is that while Covid led to the inflation which has forced people to seek lower cost-of-living locations, those areas were already a lower cost of living before Covid, so while political decisions made during Covid might have been the catalyst that forced people to move, I don't necessarily attribute the politics of red states that they are moving to as being the primary driving force for that decision.
I've got about 12 years left before retiring. I'm central / slightly left, but I wouldn't move to California simply because it's too bloody expensive, not because I care about the politics.

People are struggling to afford live so naturally they are moving to states where they can keep more of their money and actually survive. Blue state taxes aren't sustainable.

UT at the time I went was one of those high-volume placement schools. They didn't appeal to people who wanted to study law as much as they appealed to people who wanted to be lawyers. We have a 97% placement rate! All that bullshit.
But they did have a great faculty. My seminar adviser was goddamn Lee Strang. He's a veritable genius. Anytime I betray any sympathy for conservative legal thought, it almost certainly came from Lee. I remember sitting in his office one day talking about a paper he'd just published on how originalism could adapt to changing social reality while still being the most powerful tool for constitutional interpretation. I said to him, I swear, "Well, it was good, you almost convinced me." God I was arrogant then.
