Imagine if Dems wouldn't have had Manchin. Imagine if Dems didn't have President Trump. Imagine eight years of open borders. As many as what 40 million? 50 million? All in need of aid. Cultures that don't mesh with ours. Imagine the welfare expansion. Crime. 8 years of Dems and our country would have been unrecognizable. Open air drug markets. Crime. Scary to imagine. Trump is awful but this holiday season be very, very thankful for him. He literally saved America.
What Democrats do is bad enough. But how they think is worse. After trying as hard as I can, and reading as much is I can, I can never understand the logic behind many of their positions on things like the border, criminal justice, vaccine mandates and more. The only common element is an emotionally-driven agenda steeped in depression and anxiety.
As for their reasons, of course you can understand it--you just disagree with it.

They believed (1) the vaccines worked (2) many lives would be saved if everyone were vaccinated and (3) that the downside to mandatory vaccination (freedom concerns, low probability health reactions caused by vaccines) were worth it in the aggregate. It's not rocket surgery.

Yeah, I know they said all of that. I don’t think any of that is the reason. The reason a huge dose of COVID- induced anxiety and the insatiable desire for control. As I said, I don’t understand it. The decision- makers have mental and emotional deficits.

20 years ago, I would have accepted this argument. Nowadays, they are primarily motivated by self interest of feeling good by taking stupid actions or engaging in meaningless protests like no kings day. These actions and behaviors make democrats feel good. Thats it.
