She has no real competition. Newsom is the rich coastal elite guy. Won’t play well with the base. Harris is toast. Pete is terrible. If she wants it she’ll be tough to beat.
LOL - I just saw James Carville speak here and he said he thinks the Democrats have arguably the deepest bench he can remember them having in a long time.
He also said he thought if Obama and Bill Clinton would have hosted a truncated primary of six or so candidates after Biden stepped down the Democrats would have won the last race against Trump. He thought those two serving as leaders of the Democratic Party with six viable candidates drumming up suspense and drama would have take up all the air in the presidential race and the primary 50-60ish year old winner would have beat Trump.
Answering a follow up question he said Kamala could have been one of the primary participants but he was coy about whether he thought she’d be the winner

The Democrats will have a crowded primary. It’ll probably include Newsom and AOC, but it’ll include a number of the governors many of us have discussed here. Shoot, maybe even James Talarico will be in the mix. There will be a lot of choices and no one knows who will rise to the top.
If the DNC wants to win, they’ll land on a center/left candidate. AOC and probably Newsom can’t carry all the swing states, in my opinion.

in 2015 people thought Jeb Bush might’ve been a shoe in for the GOP nominee. No one thought Trump was serious candidate. Then the primaries happened.
We just don’t know.
as of today we absolutely know. the party is a radical far left party to all with their eyes open. centrist left center dems are in denial. harris was the second most liberal senator this century. biden went hardcore progressive with his policies. and he selected harris. then they selected harris again. nyc we see what is happening. chicago we see. california is california. the unquestionable spokesperson of the party is aoc.We just don’t know.
