So it is official, someone in DOGE took the Social Security data and put it on a private server where it has been accessedb by who knows who for who knows what reasons. And I can assure you as someone who worked in the field, unless that server was REALLY well protected then the Chinese, Russians, and organized crime all have it.
We didn't vet who worked for DOGE well; we didn't have clear guidelines for them in doing their job. That appears also true for ICE, find the reporter who was hired by ICE with no background check. DoJ denies it, but she has the screenshots.
But we were told this wouldn't happen....

I’m shocked. I’ll also be just as shocked if social security data has been hacked and obtained before
@spartans9312 it may have been but that doesn't change the Administration intentionally brought in people without appropriate vetting or safeguards increasing the risk of it happening again.

Government and fraud go hand in hand. It’s amazing to me that people want government to administer more social programs….then those same people are surprised when we find out people aren’t doing everything by the book with other people’s money and information
@spartans9312 Smaller government is always the answer. The opposite of what we’re seeing with Dems.
That said what @arthur-dent brings up highlights where private and public practices don’t always match. You read these billionaires and they all seem to adopt the same decisive approaches. Act. Move. Decide. Go fast. Fix problems later.

And government is always spend more money in order to make a program worse. Why are programs administered federally as opposed to state and local? Why would Indiana want to pay for something when they can use some of California’s money? It’s asinine

You're deflecting and defending the indefensible here. It's ok to admit that this administration made a mistake that exposed all of our private information and data. You can say that without pointing out that personal data has been compromised in other instances.
@spartans9312 Never happen as our best and brightest are miles away from DC. But it's been 250 years. Our country doesn't look anything like it did just a century ago. I wish there was a way to have an actual convention adn reshape government. Revise everything. We would do better eliminating a number of fed agencies and a ton of programs and reimagine a more lean regional government that would be more responsive and better mirror the regions it serves.
@spartans9312 there is no fraud in corporations? Stock market? Why do you think there are so many laws on stock trading? You don't think CEO'S used to buy or sell stock just before the release of information?
In my working days and having had access to LexisNexis and Accurint for the better part of 2 decades as part of my employment in more than one industry, you would be surprised at just how much of your information is out there and just who has access to it. And this information was freely given by you at various points in your life, and then compiled into searchable databases and stored there forever. It's nuts.
A good friend will bail you out of jail, but your best friend will be sitting next to you in the cell saying "that was f***ing awesome"

Are you required to pay them a certain percentage of your income?
@arthur-dent It's apples to oranges. They aren't here to represent and serve us. Nor are they, or most anyway, operating on our tax dollars. And with corps shareholders can sue. With us, oh well Walz sucks, pissed away billions of our dollars funding Somalis, nothing we can do.

Please show me where I defended anything. Remember…it’s what I said not what you suspected I would say.
@spartans9312 maybe 'defend' was too strong a word. "Dismissed" might've been better with feigning shock that it happened and has happened before, but we're sort of splitting hairs there. Deflecting to 'government and fraud go hand and hand' definitely fits.
