Start of a 28 POTUS run?

Vance or DeSantis v Shapiro would be immeasurably better than what we've seen the last 3 elections.  Was Shapiro the first politician on the show, after the news the show was being cancelled?  Interesting if so.

He doesn't have a prayer in the primary.

@dbmhoosier If the DNC decides he's the guy, he'll be the guy.  Just like "they" did in 20 with Biden.  But you're right, the primary is going to be bloody, I'm sure.  Hopefully both parties have a legit, contested, primary this time.

While I disagree with some of his takes he appears to be pretty sharp & should be a viable candidate.  I doubt Democrat voters will put a Jew on the ballot any time soon, much less a moderate Jewish candidate…

there is zero chance Dems are electing a Jew to be the candidate of the party. Have you been paying any attention the last few years?

I don't think it's as crazy as you might imagine. The mainline Democrat doesn't have a problem with Jews. Only the left does. And even then, only some of the left. The academic progressive liberal doesn't like Jews. The traditional Hollywood elite liberal loves Jews. Is there anything more stereotypically Democratic than a gay Jewish professional?

The problem is that the academic progressive liberal is given an vastly outsized voice in our discussions of what's going on in the Democratic party at the moment. I think their prominence far surpasses their actual, genuine power.

“Gay Jewish”? How does that work when looking at the Pentateuch?

you are ignoring what has been going on in the primaries. If Shapiro was Jewish and radically left wing, he might have a chance. But moderates are facing an increasingly uphill battle in primaries. It caused the entire DNC to ditch everything to stop Bernie in 2020. Maybe it would do it again, but I certainly wouldn’t be on it.

meanwhile the GOP is in even worse shape. Ignore Trump specifically for a second… anyone with a moderate voice has been labeled an outcast or traitor. I have little faith that conservatism will regain the upper hand against populism anytime soon.
