Given her age, probably easier to just get a phone call
These days, live calls give away a lot, fast, and a photo may have tons of incriminating meta data. Tech has made it hard on murderers and kidnappers!
"You can't make someone listen to reason if they aren't willing to think"-- Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451
Oh these kidnappers are bitches! They’ve set a second deadline for Monday. They’ve lost all credibility

I hate to say it, but she's probably already dead.
@goat that is my belief. Unless they’re the most sophisticated kidnappers of all time and somehow found medication and food and an off the grid safe house.
There is no scenario where you can set up a cash drop, even digitally with bitcoin, without a trace on who you are.
It is crazy to me that they haven’t been found yet, like some Ocean’s 11 style stuff.
Personally it seems like these high profile cases, Charlie Kirk, Guthrie mom, etc. the FBI has been slow on the uptake.

I mean, with the Ring going dark, maybe that points to some sophistication? Or just bad luck. Who knows?
I'd like to think if I were kidnapping an octogenarian, part of my plan would involve walking through her bathroom and bedroom, and picking up every pill bottle in the medicine cabinet, on the sink, on top of the dresser, whatever, and taking it with me just in case. But that's probably hindsight talking.
@goat I was an RA for an old goat law professor. That’s basically all I did. Arrange his pills

Oh for fucks sake. Just call Colter Shaw. He'll find her safe and sound in a hour. Sheesh.

Who is that?
Like Nancy Drew or Agatha Christie?
@snarlcakes @larsiu So is the demand $6 mil in bitcoin? I have a sinking feeling about our investment

Should have asked for it all in burl. No way they're tracing that shit and it just keeps on appreciating in value, chugging along, oblivious to the whims of the Fed.
Hope is not optimism, which expects things to turn out well, but something rooted in the conviction that there is good worth working for. - Seamus Heaney, Irish poet and likely Hoosier basketball fan.

Burl wood costs have skyrocketed, with premium pieces like Walnut reaching up to \(\$6,953\). This surge is driven by extreme scarcity due to wildfires (e.g., buckeye), high demand for unique, high-figure, live-edge furniture, and the labor-intensive, multi-year drying process. Prices often range from \(\$2.00\) per pound to over \(\$35\) per board foot for specialized, rare, and high-figure wood.
