What's correct...
"The US is trailing."
or
"The US are trailing."
The first one.
Is there anything you're not wrong about?
Or just very old. The US literally changed from are to is after the court case Lee v Grant was decided in Grant's favor. Below is from Google AI but I have heard a historian discuss it.
Yes, "the United States are" was once a grammatically correct and common phrasing, used to emphasize the nation as a collection of individual states. The shift to the singular "the United States is" became standard after the Civil War, a linguistic change that reflected the nation's new identity as one single, indivisible entity
I decline to recognize or accept that change.
Name the next coach now. Encourage, if not require participation in the Zurich Classic the next two years. And encourage partnering with potential Ryder cup teammates. Use next years President's Cup as a preparation for the Ryder Cup in Ireland in 2 years. Put heavy importance on guys that played well at the Zurich, and in the President's cup team sessions... and the fact that they did those things... when picking the team for Ireland. Go with less automatic qualifiers, and pick more guys based more on the criteria I listed.
We have had some big wins on American soil recently...but the performance in the team portion this week was embarrassing. As it was in Italy, or France, wherever the last one was. Beating those sons a bitches in Ireland, Rory's backyard, needs to be a very, very high priority for everyone at the top levels of "USA golf".
PGA did terrible job of not getting the fans off the property who were misbehaving.
Changes needed: 1-If a player can’t play match on Sunday, the match forfeited or have alternate on site. 2-The event can’t end 14-14. One player’s name for each team goes in envelope at start of event. If match ends 14-14 they play sudden death for win.
I like the idea of each team having one injury alternate for singles. The sudden death idea for a 14-14 tie would be awesome, also!
I guess the only downside to a injury alternate rule is that someone who played really awful on Friday and Saturday could fake an injury, but there is an obvious loophole here now with the ability to get a guaranteed half point by simply declaring an injury

Captain should have to play in the event of an injury. That'd be awesome.
They turned Bethpage Black into La Quinta and made it a putting contest. This was Bradley’s big mistake. Also the fans were terrible. Made it hard to watch
I don't know how you get rid of the horrible, vile fans / McMurt type people
But kicking them out instantly would be a start.

Well, congrats to the European team.
Now, they can all fly home to Florida to celebrate . . . .

New Yorkers were embarrassment for the World to see in the Ryder Cup. They will continue that by electing a socialist mayor.
I watched a little. Fans were far too damn annoying to watch more. Just too many assholes. Id watch a Ryder cup if there was a lot of sportsmanship shown by fans of both sides.
Heck, some of the European team were guys I like and root for on the PGA tour. If I was there live Id want to seem them play their best and Id try to give them the conditions where they could. Id still want the USA guys to beat them.
And on Florida, yeah the first day was me getting educated again on who was American and who was not. lol
Our team was not playing strong. They made a better run at it than I expected, after seeing the first two days.

Ah yes, the infamous Ryder Cup attendee/ Mamdani voter.
I didn’t mean the Ryder Cup hoodlums were socialist voters. I meant they were an embarrassment just like the NY Socialists.New Yorkers were embarrassment for the World to see in the Ryder Cup. They will continue that by electing a socialist mayor.
