@jdb

All interesting stuff.

Will an individual who has drivers license revoked be able to own and “drive” one of these?

Can a person who can’t drive because of vision issues be able to use one?

Are wheel chair accessible self drivers available for quadriplegics?

Are driving and user data kept? law enforcement purposes?

Would be pretty cool if a known fugitive tried to use a self drivers cab and the cab drove to the nearest police station.  Will ICE  want to program these things so an illegal immigrant user is driven to an ICE  facility?

I know a guy who is disabled with Parkinson’s and he uses his self driving Tesla to get around.  That’s cool.

@oneeyedundertaker Waymo has been doing this for years. I welcome the day when we don't have people driving.

Correct, but the cost of a ride & the tech Waymo used is miles behind Tesla.  We did a big stretch of the PCH last week from San Fran to Cambria & spent a few days in Carmel & Monterey in a FSD Model Y & it was glorious & performed flawlessly.  I won’t be renting anything else on a vacation that needs a car rental.

I’m sure some folks won’t trust them even though they’ll be far safer than human drivers, but some like @big-ryan will find excuses to hate them because of Elon.  Ikm sure they’ll get vandalized by cretins regularly.

What the hell even is this? That's not a Waymo car. This is a Waymo car.

Also, I could gaf if I use Tesla, Waymo, Robotaxi or some other service. Just get me away from smelly cars and drivers.

Sorry, I should clarify that the timeline for these chain of events may go beyond this week.

Waymo has imported thousands of the Chinese made vehicle above(Waymo Ojai) & plans to expand their fleet with these more than the current Jag.

That Tesla looks small, but I assume it has decent trunk space like others I've seen?

Looks like Waymo made a stupid decision buying cheap Chinese EVs

I don't know the rules, but they wouldn't be "driving", would they?

See above

Are wheel chair accessible self drivers available for quadriplegics?

I assume wheel chair accessible versions are available or will be once governmental intervention stops delaying the rollout of these.

Yes, in the same manner as Uber, Lyft or any other location-based service app.

When the Waymo’s start to collaborate we may be in for it. We are already seeing it with food delivery robots in Chicago.

That's the safest Chicago sidewalk I've seen in a while

@co-hoosier The Tesla cybercabs don’t even have steering wheels or pedals, so no ability to drive is needed.  A privately owned Tesla with Full self Driving still requires someone with a driver’s license behind the wheel & able to meet all requirements that a regular vehicle has.
