I will always remember him most from Sneakers, which had a star cast and is never mentioned enough as a great film.

I liked Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.  Was forced to watch the Great Gatsby in HS.  Didn't like it.  The Sting was excellent, and the Natural is one of my favorite films.  Also Jeremiah Johnson was very good.  Had no idea he was almost 90.  RIP.

This is like someone saying "Joe Dimaggio is dead. I'll always remember him from Mr. Coffee commercials."

RIP, Mr. Redford.

Directed A River Runs Through It and performed the narration.

Soy Game is my favorite.  Watch the DVD often.  Many well-played great one- liners  RIP

I'm too young for the stuff that made him famous. Everything I watched him in, he was already old.

You've never had the ability to go back and watch old movies?

Jimmy Stewart is my favorite actor of all time.  I watched every one of his movies on TV or VHS.

You and me both. Great film if completely unbelievable. Lots of great great actors beyond Redford and Pitt.

This one hits hard. The Way We Were is the only answer. At the height of his hotness. “Your girl is lovely, Hubble.” My first Hollywood crush. By most indications a good guy who worked to make the world better.

Growing up is realizing "It's a Wonderful Life" is thinly veiled Marxist propaganda and Mr. potter was unfairly villainized.

all those entertainers from that era seems to sneak up on us age-wise. Gene Hackman was 95 when he died.

Obviously love The Natural and Sundance...

Met him when I was a kid at Ft Sheridan (can barely remember).  I guess tthey were filming parts of Ordinary People in this big warehouse behind our base housing.  There was no real security needed.  We just walked over and met him one day outside.

I liked Indecent Proposal as well...although Honeymoon in Vegas was actually a better version of the same story. 😄

Looking back he made very few bad movies. I’d heard he was pretty picky about what he agreed to.

I mean, of all the intrepretations of that movie, this certainly is one of them. Did you miss the part where he withheld the funds taken to the bank due to what he clearly knew was a mistake and knowingly used said mistake to his own advantage?
