Jane Goodall, gone at 91 years old. She led a long, meaningful, purpose-driven life.
Great woman. Groundbreaking primate behavioral research. She trended toward environmental activism in recent years, since she was smart.
"You can't make someone listen to reason if they aren't willing to think"-- Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451
Heard less from her in recent years as the evolutionary theory her life’s work was predicated on became more thoroughly debunked.

She was pro eugenics and population decline. Speaking at the WEF advocated for billions of people to be wiped out.

Either of you clowns have anything to back that up?

Just like the theory of gravity and the reality of a near-spherical Earth, right?
Evolutionary theory is to biology what the periodic table is to chemistry, and more. Evolution by genetic mutation and natural selection based on traits emerging from those mutations is as true as the existence of the sun. The myriad of facts and proofs of evolution together form the scientific theory of how it works.
A scientific theory is not a best guess, a crazy idea, or even a hypothesis. It is an overarching fundamental principle of science supported by massive collections of supporting evidence.

Oh no, you're asking dbm to pull out some of his twitter twits.

Probably got it from their book of wild conspiracies by Qanon.

Goodall at the 2020 World Economic Forum made a speech that critics and conspiracy theorists alike love to jump on.
In context... She was talking about deforestation, loss of animal habits, loss of biodiversity, etc. She said "All these things we talk about wouldn't be a problem if there was the size of population that there was 500 years ago”.
Is that a call for killing off people to 1525 levels?
No, and she explained this, many times, in many interviews. Simply put, the world doesn’t have infinite resources, and animal habitats are severely strained by rising populations and demand for exploitation/destruction of the habitats for other purposes (lumber, farming, etc.).
More than anything else, Goodall and her Institute promote enhancing education about nature and science, with a particular emphasis on educating girls. All voluntary. Benefits include appreciation for the fragility of environments, better health care practices, sustainable living, lower infant mortality, etc. A side benefit also arises: healthier and better educated families with two educated parents whose babies are expected to live to adulthood have smaller families.
She also clarified often that population reduction can be meaningless without education. As much as she discussed population, she discussed overconsumption, that high-income nations, despite having lower birth rates, contribute disproportionately to environmental degradation due to overconsumption and demand for unlimited economic development.

@dbmhoosier It's quite a leap to say that she was 'pro-eugenics' based on what you posted.
Lamenting the fact that a new housing development reduced the size of the woods where my favorite hiking trails are doesn't mean I want to bulldoze houses.

It's not a leap, it's a lie. Then there's the billions of people she wants wiped out.
I think Manhattan is too crowded. dmb says that makes me pro-eugenics.

Correct.
And well stated. Goodall was a true pioneer and a heroine of science.

Well certainly mutation and adaption are scientific fact. But Goodall spent her whole life going further than that by applying it to humans and claiming we come from primates. True nutbag stuff.
Which I would hope we can all agree is an absurd on its face.
