Was a huge Bob and Tom fan growing up. One of the greatest largely unscripted morning shows ever created. Helped put Indianapolis on the map in the 90’s. Never met him but never heard a bad word about him.

That show was the soundtrack of my late teens and early adulthood when it first started in the early to mid 80's. They were my morning drive for 20 years. I met him a few times and he was just a good dude. When I was doing some side work for a courier company, I had to deliver some gear to an event at the Indy 500 Museum. I'd finished and was hanging out having a smoke by the delivery entrance before heading out. He'd found his way out there to do the same. Shot the shit for 5-10 minutes, mostly about racing.

Listened to them a lot in my late teens, early 20s.  The first time I ever heard "toast" I laughed so hard milk came out of my nose.

Still stuck in my head was a Mariachi style intro they did for Jay Baker (did a purposely awful Dick Nixon impression Dick's Picks), who did mid days after Bob and Tom.Went something like:

Aye aye aye aye,

Oh no Jay Baker.

A sheep thats asleep he will take her,

Just like a Purdue Boilermaker.

Same! Haywood Banks was a treasure. Toast, the Pancreas Song, Big Butter Jesus...

I was a little too young to really understand the show during its prime, but I loved it, and when it finally got picked up in Fort Wayne, it was my regular morning show.

A few I really enjoyed:

Wow, missed this until now.

Haven't listened to B&T for years, but it was a mainstay in the 80s and 90s.  Buttman and Swallow, all the track bits when the Indy 500 was still the 500, first introduction to Todd Snider, Sid and Hadji, Man Song, the list is endless.
