Watching a little News Nation before bed, and they interviewed Esther Kim Varet - who absolutely belongs nowhere near Congress - about the redistricting, and she said, with a straight face, "What Texas is doing and what California is doing are two entirely different things, because Texas is about suppressing Democratic voices, while California is about empowering them."
Partisans really twist themselves into knots. This is a horrible precedent, period, full stop.
Let's just go to proportional representation. A state has 10 seats, orange party gets 56% of the vote, mauve party gets 42%. Orange gets 6 seats, mauve 4, everyone is happy.

Did the interviewer push back or press her on these statements?

LOL. At least I can claim my girl is a nobody running for a nowhere seat, not the speaker of the damn house.
Don’t get me started down this road, or I’ll be banned everywhere.
My bride wants her steak cooked so it’s fuchsia inside. Fvck fuchsia and the horse it rode in on.
