Is the humiliation of JD Vance complete yet?

TrumPence 2.0, meet Trump 2.0.

Another example of the extent to which Trump has tarnished our standing in the world.  "If Trump likes that guy, then we ought to be worried and pick the alternative"

But Trump and Orbán have been buddy buddy since Trumps first day as President in 2017. And yet Fidesz won in 2018 and again in 2022.

The above means that your theory is really really stupid.

Orban was expected to lose before the Vance visit, Vance visits, and then Orban lost.

And from this we’re meant to gather that Vance tanked Orban’s chances. You are so unserious.

In 2017 Trump was not thought, globally, to be an unhinged mentally incapacitated, dangerous psychopath.  That has changed, dramatically.

Should we anticipate thousands of jihadists emigrating to Hungary to enrich their culture?

Edit to add this:

https://twitter.com/i/status/2043447053012078787

Does this sound like the Spanish PM?

Just because he is pro-EU, anti-Russia doesn't mean he is changing things.

Peter Magyar maintains a hardline stance against illegal immigration, similar to the previous government, and supports maintaining the border fence, according to reports from early April 2026. He opposes the EU's migration pact, advocates for strict control of illegal migration, and suggests even tighter restrictions.
  • Border Security: He has expressed intent to maintain the security fence on Hungary's border.
  • Opposition to EU Pact: Magyar opposes the European Union's migration pact.
  • Hardline Approach: He has stated a desire for even stricter measures against immigration than the preceding government.
  • Compliance with Laws: While rejecting the EU's quota-based migration approach, he has stated that Hungary can comply with international law regarding asylum and migrant management, citing that other countries have successfully handled this without illegal immigration.
  • Strict Stance: He has indicated that illegal migration will not be tolerated in Hungary.

or trump's standing has gotten even worse as he continues to make dumb, corrupt decisions.

You being really really stupid doesn't mean the posts that you don't comprehend are stupid.

The economy was and is shambolic under Orban.

.6% growth in 2024.  Debt that is 73.5% of GDP.  Extraordinary weak performances in manufacturing, construction and agriculture and Shrinking labor market.  They do have a chance to unlock frozen EU funds though.  And they have an amazing city in Budapest that could be significant tourist spot, much in the same way Prague is.  I have been to both.  A lot history and amazing architecture.

They get to get rid of the state sponsored grafts that accomplished little to no tangible product or services.  28 billion Euros. The end to the manipulated land subsidies, and more.

Shoving carrramrod into a locker since 2024.

My prediction is that when it's all said and done, being Trump's VP will cause irreparable damage to Vance's long-term political aspirations. After the mid-terms things get ugly and Vance might see the writing on the wall and try to turn on Trump - maybe even advocate for the 25th amendment - but by then it'll be too late. Trump is taking everyone down with them.

One would think that with Orban out, Hungary may be slightly more attractive to invest in. However, its demographics need to change (on par with EU median age, which isn't a good thing) unless there is another catalyst that accelerates economic growth.
