Apparently Trump is going to announce the end of autism in the "most important press conference" he's ever done tomorrow! How disappointed are the conspiracy theorists going to be when they found out autism isn't caused by vaccines, but by Tylenol*.

*Not a joke - that's what the leaks say.

Just to be clear, the reason doctors prescribe Tylenol to expectant mothers is because there is a genuinely researched link between fever and birth defects. If this story is accurate, the only likely medical result is that more babies are harmed.

Impressive that you’re willing to make this claim without even seeing the data…

What claim am I making without data?

@goat  There are other natural ways to reduce fever.  The link between acetaminophen and neuro dev issues isn’t limited to adhd autism etc. can impact male reproductive organs, speech etc

jr may be nutty but he’s shining a lot on so many things that get rubber stamped from nutrition to this shit

@goat your only likely medical result is absurd. You’re way out of your depth here once again.  Stick to non league play on certain topics 😉

That's not a claim. It's a prediction. I'm not saying it happened. I'm saying I bet it does.

@oneeyedundertaker fever can be bad news where there is no alternative. That’s much different than routine advice vs last resort

"There is no clear evidence that proves a direct relationship between the prudent use of acetaminophen during pregnancy and fetal developmental issues,” Dr. Christopher Zahn, chief of clinical practice for the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, said in a statement.

“Neurodevelopmental disorders, in particular, are multifactorial and very difficult to associate with a singular cause. Pregnant patients should not be frightened away from the many benefits of acetaminophen, which is safe and one of the few options pregnant people have for pain relief.”

Is he out of his element?

Should he listen to Mr. Brainworm with the heroin-rotted cerebral cortex?

So telling that instead of hope that there may be something to these claims, the assumption is that more babies will have medical problems before seeing one iota of data.   Will they solve it?  I don’t know, but my first sentiment is hope & excitement, not disdain, no matter who’s in charge.  Hell, even skepticism is understandable, but not that it will do more damage, that’s effed up & a perfect example of TDS.  Maybe because I’m a parent & know people who struggle with a child on the spectrum every day…

He’s built a ton of credibility on these matters. The entire world will believe.

No, but a scientist should see the data before drawing a conclusion.  Do they have new evidence?  The most encouraging thing is that you’re on the opposite side of it, which makes it much more likely that it’s legit given your record on things.🤣  Again, I don’t know if they’re really on to anything, but I’m going to see what they’ve got to say while the Covid clan will shout down any dissent…
