@aloha-hoosier and I go way back. Maybe two decades. He’s a good guy. Notwithstanding his Trump posts, ( which I think are often overstated) he’s a solid conservative poster and worth reading.
Thanks. I think it's probably longer than that. Weren't we both on the WC or the predecessor boards during the Clinton years? We were probably the two main conservative opponents of the liberals here for a long time. The liberals called us right wingers constantly. My views have not changed at all. The MAGAs aren't really conservatives, not in any normal ways. They have some conservative viewpoints, but the populism, the toxic culture, the idea that half the country are enemies rather than merely political opponents, and their focus on defending anything and everything that President Trump says or does, whether it's conservative or not, make them a totally different kind of Republican. If they represent the Republican party, we need a new party ASAP.

Though I grew up in a trailer park and put myself through college, I'm officially a multimillionaire with two pensions now. I raked in the cash during my senior officer military years, had some great returns on investments, and made as much as a civilian in 12 years that I made as an officer in 26 years. I can afford many fun weekends with women. You're not on the list. I don't like manly women.
P.S. the list has one woman on it, because I'm a married conservative man. Also, I'm not sure I can still handle the "fun weekends" I could handle 20 years ago. 😉

That was my persona my entire military and civilian career, no matter how dire the circumstances. The guy that was never rattled. The guy picked to be on the bridge or in combat for every dicey situation. It's just my natural personality. It was actually noted in my fitness reports and annual appraisals. This is just a message board and not real life. Plus, it's not possible to see the smile on my face when I'm giving crap to others here. A little personal, but my wife has gotten pissed at me for being too calm and logical. It's started more than one family disagreement, unfortunately.
