Never heard of Xenith, but kid doesn't play football yet. Pretty sad that it was backed by Dan Gilbert's investment firm and the firm refused to put in more equity and let it get liquidated. I bet it would be crushing it now.
@jdb dan and rock already did a lot. that was around the time that dan was funding ventures willing to move to detroit and set up camp. all told xenith raised about 60 mil. riddell acquired them. vicis got gobbled up by certor for peanuts and now operates ish with schutt in indy. legacy outfits are around but the space was absolutely decimated on numerous fronts from no high school, youth, supply chains cooked, factories around the world closed for component parts etc

$60 Million? Geez. I saw they had some expensive credit come in to try and shore it up. I like the tech/safety angle, but I would be concerned about youth football participation trends given player-safety perceptions and the popularity of alternatives (flag, other sports). Some dads I know with kids who should be playing (they are big, fast, physical) are refusing to let them.
@jdb vicis raised around $90 mil. mahomes wore vicis. they had problems before covid and actually covid gave them a break to regroup when the sports world shut down. but getting all that shit going isnt cheap
