Remember when everyone, even DOGE, hoped that DOGE would make meaningful change happen as Milei has done? That we would cut spending instead of adding trillions more to the debt was the hope and it lasted less than a month.
Hope is not optimism, which expects things to turn out well, but something rooted in the conviction that there is good worth working for. - Seamus Heaney, Irish poet and likely Hoosier basketball fan. POTFB
Milei rocks. He's has to make a lot of concessions for politics, but he's still been able to do a lot of things right.
Too bad we don't have a single politician at the national level with a spine. Republicans suck. Nearly as bad as Democrats. It's close. Budget busters all.
I don't agree "it's the voters" because we have so rarely or never seen how any fiscally and economically smart politician with a spine would do in a reelection. It's the voters, yes, but just one person does the right thing and gets reelected than a whole bunch of currently shapeless pols would run that way.

Nobody should be labeled a “far right lunatic" for wanting to cut spending. Am I a far right lunatic for wanting zero deficit spending, a balanced budget amendment, and prohibitions on add-on "pork" as a quid pro quo for passing bills, i.e., "I will support your bill funding cancer research if you tack onto it funding a 3 billion dollar bridge project in my district, something having precisely nothing to do with your bill".
if you want something, pay for it.

In other news, I deleted CNN from my browser bookmarks. In part, tired of their biased bullshit from some of their reporters, but especially sick of having every story be "for subscribers only".
