Yeah, I just listened to that part of the hearing on POTUS. It's amazing to me that these Republican Senators are so willing to be clowns in defense of President Trump, and that's exactly what Schmitt was, a clown.

The entire purpose of this hearing was Republicans hoping they could catch Jack Smith in some sort of a lie. It was merely a perjury trap. The House failed in the same effort in both of their hearings and the Senate Republicans failed today. This is truly embarrassing for any sane Republican. Hell, it's an embarrassment to Congress and the country.
This isn't going to help the Republicans in the midterms. Democrats will make some good ads out of this hearing.

They would be a good fit now that the Big East is back to being basically all basketball. I'm from the Louisville area and my sister and BIL have season tickets to UofL football and basketball, so I follow them. I watched them go from Conference USA to the Big East to the ACC. UofL and other schools with football left the Big East for the ACC and the Big East is back to concentrating on being a basketball conference.
@aloha-hoosier Louisville was my first recruiting trip. My old law partner and I got recruited together. We visited on Friday and were supposed to scrimmage with the team on Saturday. They gave us a tour on Friday than he and I went out Friday night. Got absolutely bombed. And skipped the workout Saturday pretending to be sick. I still can picture the coach. Claudio something. School was horrible. I bet it’s a lot different now

They have good soccer teams. They love their athletic programs. I grew up across the river in Indiana and back then I thought UofL was a commuter school. I didn't know then that they actually had dorms, Greek frats and sororities and everything, but their sports facilities are not on the campus. Basketball arena is downtown and the football stadium, soccer and baseball fields are close to the fairgrounds. Back then they played basketball at the fairgrounds in Freedom Hall. They don't have any top ranked academic programs, but I believe their Engineering, Nursing and Business programs are OK. I never considered them for college. When I was on temporary recruiting duty for a couple of months, I used to target UofL for nurse recruits. They were the most fun to recruit and I was single young dashing officer at the time. I ended up dating one of my recruits, ended up getting together with her again in Hawaii after she was an officer, before I met my wife.

Kennedy's another one. He said Smith makes him want to "throw up in my mouth." Kennedy, 74, said recently that he "loves Nebraska more than sex."

Xavier is considering adding a football team again, but probably on the level of Dayton and Butler's teams. I think that's an enrollment thing.
Re: the MAC. It's screwy. I don't know what's going on with it. Northern Illinois moved to the Horizon league and the MAC added UMass and Sacramento State (Sac State is football only). A couple of years ago OU was having discussions about joining the Sunbelt Conference, but nothing came of it.
All those mid majors should just wait 5-10 years when the inevitable super conference forms and all the bottom feeder programs from the existing power 4 conferences start forming their own conferences.

@ohio-guy it’s an old regional conference that I’d hate to see busted up. I know endowments are restricted but on paper the schools should do more in sports. Ohio u. I just looked it up. 30k students. 1bil endowment. And they only spend 33 mil on sports.
OH, I will add. In the very beginning, Grassley asked jack ass if he had ever deposed or interviewed or got a report (I can't remember exactly how the question was phrased) by CIA Director brehnan. jack ass slowly answered, in pure lawyer form... "I've never MET brehnan". Never answered the fuckin question.
Then Grassley, Well into his teenage years if he were to live to be 400, says ok I guess you already answered my next question.
