I’ve had that thought too, but I don’t think it works. Simply not realistic.I was just watching Smerconish from this morning. He doesn't think we should have gone in, but now that we are in we cannot leave until we have all uranium. There is no doubt now, if Iran develops something after this they will certainly use it.
What is realistic and sticking with your line of thinking might be too stop at some appropriate point to be determined by our military brass and then appeal to Congress for their approval to attack Iran at any point in the future if they are perceived to be reestablishing their uranium production. That would now only present a threat to Iran to not continue that program, but Iran would have a clear understanding that we mean business.
I have no idea what would work obviously, but this at least four stalls, any significant loss of our life life and their civilian life.

I cannot wait for some insider to write the book. One possible answer. In meetings, group think led to "we bomb a couple of weeks and they will beg us to stop" and no one questioned that narrative.
