There's no way there's an unconditional surrender. That's the end of their power and they won't do that. I haven't been paying attention today, but I'm assuming there still isn't traffic in the straights? If ships aren't passing through it, we're screwed, because all the financial backing in the world for insurance doesn't matter to the crew who will be dead if the company collects.
It would suck, but we wouldn't be f#cked. The rest of the world would be though. In 2008 when oil got to 145 (220 in today's dollars) the U.S. and Canada imported 12 million barrels a day. We now export 8 million a day.
Declare victory and get the f*** out. The House is gone but the Senate might salvageable.
He needs to declare it the greatest of all greatest war victories and then leave yesterday. I like winning elections. And would prefer avoiding another Bush sh#t show where we turn over the country to shit libs because we're bigger dumba#%es.

Yeah but we still import quite a bit because we are not self-sufficient in specific products, especially those needed for transportation. Plus, when you say we are a net exporter to the tune of 8 million barrels, does that include the 4 million that Canada exports directly to the US?

Not sure. He said we still need to import about half million barrels because of refinery issues.

I asked AI. It said the US net exports a little over 1 million barrels/day, and Canada does a little over 4 million, but 90% of them go to us. So US/Canada as a team exports to the rest of the world, net, maybe 1.5 million barrels/day. Not sure where you got the 8 million number.

There can really be only one reason for his selection: the IRGC wanted him. He's been using his unofficial position as close confidante to his father to nurture relationships there, and that's what got him the gig. Without fear of the IRGC, I doubt the Assembly of Experts would have gone with an in-family succession, which is in theory anathema to all extreme revolutionaries in Iran, both Islamist and leftist. So we should view this as a sign that the IRGC is still firmly in control of the direction of government.
If Trump and Netty can kill a tyranical leader, why couldn't Iran do the same to them? Not advocating for it at all, but sometimes you reap what you sew.

They've been trying...

And while you say "not advocating for it at all" I saw a post you made several days ago on the subject that made me cringe. I was going to reply to it but thought better of it (I wasn't trying to get on some watchlist) and apparently you did too, because it disappeared within minutes of you posting it. But here you are again.
Sometimes you reap what you sew but that just means you end up with a nice quilt or scarf. Most times, you reap what you sow.
(How's that @aloha-hoosier?)
A good friend will bail you out of jail, but your best friend will be sitting next to you in the cell saying "that was f***ing awesome"
