"The Pentagon is seething over a Washington Post report that top military leaders recently warned Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth against extending large-scale Iran War operations.

"The heads of US European, Pacific and Southern Commands, along with the Navy's top admiral, responded with a "non-concur" - signaling their disagreement with Hegseth's order to extend their forces, the Post reported.

"The report comes as the US and Iran traded fire for the first time in almost a month.  The war, now in its sixth month, has drained the Navy's budget and significantly depleted US stockpiles of missile interceptors and long-range precision missiles."

@big-ryan i mean all of this is nuts to me.  in the last decade we've spent what 5 trillion on the us military.  and this little conflict has drained the navy's budget and depleted us stockpiles.  where's all the money going?  what are we paying for?

@big-ryan I know Pacific Command, Pacific Fleet and 7th Fleet did not want to send the George Washington to the Gulf either. WESTPAC currently has no carrier except Abe as it transits out of the theater.

It's all a misdirect. For what I am not sure, but I bet it is leveraging for som$thing.

Much hysteria stateside. U.S. forces apparently haven’t engaged. Quietly clearing mines, opening up alternative shipping lanes, while the blockade remains in place.

Screws are being put to Iran.

I don't believe that we have diminished our stock pile any amount that is a detriment. I feel that it's all a misdirection, but I am not sure what the goal is. BUT it usually has something to do with $$$.

The idea that any reduction in magazine depth resulting from the Iran conflict, plays into China’s calculus at all on whether to take aggressive kinetic action against Taiwan is farcical.

IF China moved against Taiwan and IF we responded militarily, the few months of depletion would have little bearing on the outcome of the conflict.

I've had the same thought. If the supposed greatest military in history can't manage this "excursion," then WTF have we been doing all these years?

It would be great if you could provide some support for that belief.

WSJ reporting, and other sources, would suggest the depletion is at critical levels. For example,
