Not exactly right. $400 million in cash on a pallet was flown into Tehran as part of Obama's unfreezing of about $1.7 billion dollars in Iranian cash. So, there was at least one pallet of cash. Maybe pallets. That's all it is. But it's a very strong ceasefire, some people say it's the strongest ceasefire in history, like no one has seen before.
The "deal" will come when it's determined how the nuclear material is handled and if Israel can be kept from blowing the whole thing up out of spite.

Yes, it was unfrozen Iranian assets. Doing part of it in cash made it look worse than it was. I wasn't for unfreezing any of their assets, but it was going to happen because of a legal ruling. Obama used it as an incentive to get the JCPOA done.

If Trump accidentally bombs us back into another JCPOA, we should just feel lucky that we ended up there instead of somewhere worse. I just don't want to listen to a bunch of idiots proclaiming how Trump's JCPOA is brilliant while Obama's JCPOA was a disaster.

@bradstevens Such an odd dynamic at play... We probably did need to help do something with regards to their nuclear program and their capabilities. And it is possible our recent efforts over there will have lasting, positive impacts. But man, with this dude, I just don't believe going after the nukes was the primary driver. I believe that is something that is important to Trump... but Israel blackmail, market manipulation, hell even political distraction... with Trump, those things sure seem just as likely the reasons we decided to get physical all of a sudden... as slowing/ending their nuke program.
I honestly think market manipulation is now the primary driver in most things Trump is saying and doing. I'm sure there were huge "short" positions taken late last week on oil futures. And this whole thing will flame up again very soon, precipitated by huge buying positions.
In a time when knowing the actual truth, with much of anything politics related, is nearly impossible... making money, and manipulating the situation to do it, is really one of the few "Truths" about Trump that is constant. To his core, he's a cheater, he will break and/or disregard any rule that limits his ability to "win", and along the way, he'll be an awful human being while doing it.
But... that doesn't mean those efforts won't lead to positive things happening for "us" and for the world. I think its possible this could end up being one of those things. Its just really hard to digest it all.
