Yet, the Pentagon under Hegseth also failed its audits and has done no better than in previous years. It’s a shit ton of money and only growing. It’s obvious that it’s difficult to keep tabs on all of it DoD wide. I know every ship and shore command I’ve been at has accounted for every dime of our budgets. I signed the books on my last four assignments.
Recruiting was increasing before Hegseth. It’s always tied to the economy. Our recruiting booms have all occurred during downturns.
There are some good Secretaries and appointees in this administration, why would you spend any effort at all defending one who was a gigantic mistake who doesn’t have the respect of those he’s supposed to be leading?
