Looks like anyone who worked with Milley is doomed.
Maybe he’s a Chinese inside man like Milley…
The Colonel was fired solely because he was Milley's media spokesman - a job he was assigned (ordered) to do. Hegseth has fired people solely because they're women, minorities, or just not "yes men." Hegseth is an absolute joke of a Secretary of Defense and I've never said that about any other SecDef. There were some I didn't particularly like, but at least they were qualified and not only ideologues.Looks like anyone who worked with Milley is doomed.
Hegseth is an unfit clown as SecDef. This really pains me to say, but it’s undeniably true, Hegseth is the worst SecDef in my military and post-military lifetime. I don’t know General George personally, but I know several people who know him well.

Do you know if something like this can be reversed by the next administration?Hegseth is an unfit clown as SecDef. Yes. Like President Trump naming a retired three star to be Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, he could be recalled to serve as well.Do you know if something like this can be reversed by the next administration?Hegseth is an unfit clown as SecDef. Add that to the list of reversals on day one of the next administration. of course top of the list is anything named Trump.Yes. Hegseth has intervened in military promotions for more than a dozen senior officers
That is just insane. This goes well beyond simply trying to curb DEI initiatives and trying to ensure hiring and promotion is merit-based. Based on reporting, he seems to be delaying promotions based solely on gender and race. I really hope he's called to the carpet on this and has to explain why these people were delayed or denied promotion.
As an aside, is there anyone in Trump's cabinet who was selected based on merit? Unless total and undeniable sycophancy is considered merit, Hegseth certainly wasn't selected based on his credentials. That's what makes it especially rich that he's personally holding up promotions because of race, ethnicity and gender.

I don't know why more people aren't up in arms over Trump building and naming things after and for himself. I do hope whoever takes the reigns in 2028 makes it a priority to strip away his name from all the buildings, ships and other things he's ramrodded his name on. He knows he'd never earn those types of honors so he's trying to force it all to happen while enough of his yes men are in charge.
I'd defend these firings (mostly forced retirements) if they were defensible.Hegseth has intervened in military promotions for more than a dozen senior officers

But Trump campaigned on cleaning out the uppper echelons of DoD/ DoW. He felt they were too political.
And the people apparently agreed.
We can argue the individual firings if you like but I don’t believe either of us have the knowledge base about the particular person to do so.

That's why I mentioned that it would be a good idea for Hegseth to have to justify these cases. Given that a good number of the people he held up for promotion were women and people of color, it would seem justified.
@ohio-guy I don’t believe DoW owes an explanation to the public for every hiring or firing.
Accusations of racism and sexism? Well he’s a Republican after all, that comes with the territory.
