@aloha-hoosier My friend who lives in Maui in winter is about ready to pull her hair out. It’s been dry so they needed it but the last month has been awful. I got their there of February and had a good week. She had friends there for two weeks and had rain every day, awful winds, flooded stores and roads, airport closed off and on. It’s been crazy wind everywhere lately it seems.

It's been 100+ in Phoenix for the past few days and is going to be that way for the near-term. No way this place can survive this kind of heat starting this early unless Summer is much shorter and cooler than in prior years.

@co-hoosier Still a lot of work to be done. My friends are back in their Lahaina condo and houses are getting rebuilt. But they can’t decide what they want to do about rebuilding Front Street, whether they need new regulations to not be so close to the ocean, etc.
They should put Front Street back just like it was. The opportunity to impose new regs doesn’t mean it’s a wise thing. The intimacy with the ocean was part of the charm of the town. .
