Would love to contact him, but lost contact data.
He was diagnosed with Hydrocephalus after a fall and striking his head. Posted a year or so ago on the old forum and said that was probably his last post. I think he was in some kind of assisted living in Tennessee.
Terrible diagnosis and sad case.
Would love to contact him, but lost contact data.
If I remember correctly, Univee had been in contact not that long ago
@Univee2 You listening? Can you help me out? I recall COH’s info, but was hoping maybe Sope got some surgery that helped him out. Any news?
Last contact was several months ago. Said he was “completely disabled.” Still seemed upbeat.
One reason I keep praying for a Hoosier win today and then against Miami is that I especially want guys like Sope to enjoy the special moment. From those days in the Knothole section in the 60’s to today a lot of miles have passed under our feet.
I vowed to fly my IU flag again - I retired it when Brand fired Coach Knight - only when IU returned to the court for a 6th banner or we beat osu in football. I hung it at 12:45 am after IU beat OSU and the post game shows ended for the Big Ten championship game. 25 years . . .
Can anyone here play this game?

Such a bummer - particularly since he was right in ATL for a long time. Win it for Sope!

Please tell him I am thinking of him.
For old times sake, I left my seats in the East Side Club and went over to sit in the Knothole section during the Illinois game. It was refreshing!
Have you spent much time there? Good town? Thoughts on UGA?About 50 miles south southeast of Athens.

Athens is a good college town. IU spoils us all vis-a-vis room. Georgia, like Virginia, and Ole Miss, needs more acres between buildings.
They admitted me to their law school in 1982, so the past academic standing can be questioned. My prep for the LSAT consisted of watching Sugar Ray Leonard fight Thomas Hearns.
Give it a B. Give the female component an A. I think it’s a nice town; bigger than Bloomington.
All football. Talking with some guys at one of the clubhouse bars where we are. I had on an IU polo and we talked about the difference in football emphasis. This was pre-Cig. Big Bulldog fans. When I mentioned Tom Crean - you know, guys, we have an IU-UGA connection - they had blank looks on their faces.

Maybe they were imitating his look when faced with the Syracuse matchup 2-3 zone.Give it a B. Give the female component an A. I think it’s a nice town; bigger than Bloomington.
