Anyone else find this site lags in clicking through to things?  

I've noticed from time to time, but a click refresh usually clears the hiccups and lag. I mean it's still somewhat slow here and there, but as somebody who would wait minutes for a pornographic image or a 2 inch by 2 inch Vivo video to load, buffer or render on Dialup in the mid 90's I reckon this ain't so bad by comparison.

And Stoll, if you haven't loaded UBlock Origin and or Disable HTML 5 Autoplay extensions on whatever browser you use, you are missing out. Did that several years ago and no more pop ups and no more loud video adds playing in the background.

@bradstevens my brother they need to take hooky up on a gofund me page and start over with a developer.  there's enough of us that would put in to get them a rivals looking site. subscriptions of $3 or whatever here i don't know.  seems like a waste of time.  i don't think this wc will make it to april.  i can't keep doing this. it's just no fun.  it's too difficult on numerous fronts

@stollcpa 100 percent accurate. people will die off and go to other places long before april.  they need to get it fixed in weeks. not months.

@mcm666 Steps are being taken to address the site's obvious shortcomings and to determine the best way forward for the long term. It's been four days and it's a major holiday weekend.

@unclemark in life i've only been good at precious few things.  dribbling.  playing weighted through balls.  and fcking.  that's really about it.  largely everything else has been varying degrees of failure.  if i post something it's 100 percent true and accurate. a person i've kept touch with every single day of the week for 30 years has been on the boards with me who would call me out in a second if i made something up. anything.  

i have learned so much about startups.  as businesses.  as hobbies (never works).  i'm telling you if wordpress is the platform following will erode.  mark my words.  it's an outmoded platform and posters are accustomed to slick platforms. this isn't fun and as stoll said april is too long to wait.

i HATE you as a mod but you know i think you're smart and i like you a lot and i htink your heart is in the right place here per usual.  but what i'm telling you is the truth.  this wc which is the most active board of all wont survive until april even with incremental improvements on this platform. 

fatigue is real. you have to strike fast with things in business.

Changes are coming soon enough. May not be soon enough for you, but they are coming. I really don't care what stoll thinks. 

@unclemark i know you don't like stoll but stoll has represented businesses for 40 years. he knows. and know it won't be soon enough for me.  or many others.  you'll see that i'm right.

@unclemark i know about wordpress.  i used it extensively more than a decade plus ago with a business i was involved. it's a favorite historically amongst publishing outfits etc.   this doesn't look anything like what we had on rivals on numerous fronts.  and it isn't just add ons in wordpress.

twenty suggested software or sites. those i know nothing about.  maybe reach out to him.  but wordpress isn't it for forums.  otherwise why isn't rivals, on3 etc utilizing it

@unclemark i know you're taking up for the founders and i don't want you to take my posts as being antagonistic.  they're not.  the spirit intended is helpful.  tweaking this platform isn't going to work.  i'm certain.  and if the founders are doing this for altruistic purposes.  fine.  great.  but if htey're doing it with an eye towards making money i suspect they'll appreciate my comments.  if htey don't they shouldn't be in business

@unclemark they need to go get capital.  friends and family.  fast.  not $3 subscriptions.  if a business is the goal.  if they're going on with their other careers and this is a part time deal it'll just die off.

From someone who has spent no time thinking about how to make money off of this enterprise:  I think the point for a message board is that it has to be fast enough, have enough features, and be designed so that users can use it almost like they use Twitter.  Quick in and out.  Quick linking. Smooth click throughs from one post to the next, one thread to the next.  

@bradstevens that's it.  lars made a joke.  jdb posted a funny gif.  took 1 sec to see it and 2 secs to post a laughing emoji and back to work, calls, etc.  that has to be replicated.  people won't take the time or make the effort

I hope you guys aren't assuming that Sammy is satisfied. He has said himself he's not. I'm not comfortable with the forums any more than you are. He's also said he's determined to get things straightened out. I'm willing to give him a chance. YMMV.
