On Trump's order, the Navy is ditching the modern, more efficient Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System in favor of the old steam-powered catapults.

The Lakers were sold to Josh Kushner (Jared Kushner's brother) and Bob Iger for $12.5 billion (highest selling price ever for a sports franchise) - in a deal that came together in just 72 hours.
Seller is Mark Walter. Walter is the head of Guggenheim Partners and also owns the Dodgers. He owned the Lakers for just one year before selling.
Walter is currently under federal investigation for alleged SEC violations. His cell phone and laptop were seized when his private plane was searched at Midway last year.
Walter and the Dodgers were hosted by Trump at the White House last month in celebration of their 2025 World Series championship. During the festivities, Walter presented Trump with not just a jersey but a personalized World Series Championship ring! Can a pardon be far behind? Was Trump (and/or his son-in-law) involved in the Lakers negotiations? More to come for sure.

Trump wasting billions of taxpayer money on downgrading our aircraft carriers.
That is on top of the billions being spent on the Iran War and the fact that we are low on munitions (more important than screwing up our aircraft carriers).
Will conservatives that support this crap maintain that they care about the military or about fiscal responsibility?
Is there ANY kind of truth to the statement by Trump that the steam systems perform better? I mean, seriously, if there is any kind of documentation out there that proves that there are issues with the EMALS system on a reliability standpoint compared to steam, I'll at least listen to the argument. There is sometimes truth to the statement that older technologies are still more reliable than high tech newer innovations.
With that said, I'm pretty sure that this is just another of the Trump's "windmills cause cancer" kind of arguments (aka total BS) and the EMALS system is better overall with regards to power efficiency, force generated, less man-power needed, and equivalent maintenance requirements.
So unless someone can prove otherwise, this is indeed yet another example of Trump costing this country billions of dollars for no reason.
In ten years after Trump is dead, the number of books and testimonials from people in this administration who are going to finally tell the truth of just how bleeping crazy / stupid / corrupt Trump is are going to number in the thousands and how these people had to go along with the crazy nutjob because "They had no other choice!!!"
