@bulk-vh I was walking in South beach and a guy walked past me in a t shirt that said:
I FUCKED THE CHICK IN HANSON
@snarlcakes she’s a genius. She’s the soundtrack to my generation.
I think I've mentioned this before, but back in college one of my professors was talking about music - I think it was the Beatles and Rolling Stones specifically because Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and The Rolling Stones had passed through Cincinnati fairly recently - and he talked about what makes a musical genius. He has a lot of contributing factors and I'm sure he shared his personal preferences (he maintained that the early 60s to the mid 70s were the peak of popular music), but essentially he said that musicians and bands with real staying power were geniuses. Musicians that could continue to create new music a large audience was still interested over the course of decades were able to do something a very small select group was able to do. Given all the musicians and song writers in the world, he felt that being about to create multiple hits and staying very much a part of the zeitgeist was nearly impossible to do and it took genius to be able to do it.
I haven't talked with that guy in ages so I have no idea what he may think of Taylor Swift, but based on what I remember about his genius theory, she'd qualify. I'm personally not a fan of hers, but I do have to give credit where credit is due. She has captivated people for decades with no real signs of stopping. That's really hard to do.
I didn't criticize the ballroom project much at all. However, I will always criticize liars, and it seems that the President told us a YUGE lie over and over about it being completely paid for by private donors.

The Grand Opening ceremony for the Obama Presidential Center features a star-studded lineup of musical artists, including Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson, John Legend, and U2’s Bono and The Edge.
I guess no Milli Vanilli or other Trump rally has-beens / never was performers.

@shooter good lord how miserable. legend is married to that total whackjob insufferable woke chick. bruce springsteen looks like an absolute clown at this point. and people wonder why no one wants dems in office. yet they keep pointing to these hollywood/celeb freakshows as though this is a good thing. worked great last election. F off with all of these out of touch uninformed, uneducated people
@bar-down is Springsteen the most overrated musician of all time? Seemingly the only people who enjoy his music are retarded Boomers. Listening to him sing sounds like someone is trying to drown an autistic person.
@carramrod terrible. old lefties love him. but no one is worse than that legend's wife.
Saw Springsteen and the E Street Band in Columbus in April 2024. That was my fifth time and my wife's sixth. He still packs in the crowd, the arenas were sold out every time I've seen them. Puts on a great 3 hour plus show. I've been to a ton of concerts, and I can't think of any that were better than a Springsteen concert. I was happy to see that our section had a large number of 20s and 30s aged people, and I don't think they ever sat down. I've always disliked his politics but he's one hell of a performer. I long ago decided that the liberal political beliefs of actors and musicians are irrelevant to me. "Boycotting" them would mean missing out on a lot of great movies and shows.@shooter good lord how miserable. legend is married to that total whackjob insufferable woke chick. bruce springsteen looks like an absolute clown at this point. and people wonder why no one wants dems in office. yet they keep pointing to these hollywood/celeb freakshows as though this is a good thing. worked great last election. It's not my preferred lineup at all, but you'd have to admit that it's a more popular/talented lineup than Trump tried to assemble (and then failed to get, as even the losers bailed on him).

Classy. How do you feel about Mellencamp? Seems like he was wildly popular until people like you finally noticed that he's always been "woke" and bailed.

@shooter these are people as informed and educated as hickory. that they want to perform on behalf of dems says volumes.... if dems get their way they'd take all their shit. these people are just too isolated too uninformed too uneducated too afraid of being shamed to know any better. this isn't anything to brag about. in fact it's the opposite
When did I ever say that any singer was well-informed, or a good source of political advice, had good common sense, or even should be a role model? They can sing. Most of them are creative (the ones that write their stuff, certainly).
It's just funny that the orange turd puts himself out there as a great patron of the arts (the grand poo-bah of the Kennedy Center!) and yet he can't even beg or pay any artist to support his bullshit.
