I'm not going to bother trying to find a cite, but I believe it was Hegseth's insistence that journos sign a sort of NDA requiring them to toe the DoD line that the court found lacking. BICBW.

LOL! Rumsfeld wasn’t SecDef in 2007. Pentagon Pete / Major Rooster is the least competent and least qualified SecDef in my lifetime. He’ll be gone soon after the midterms. Leaders that don’t have the respect of their senior followers, and he doesn’t, can’t lead and must go.

One would think there would be issue with letting some press in but not all.
