First ever World Para Ice Hockey Women's Championship started today in Slovakia

As some of you know, my son plays sled hockey (also known as para ice hockey). It's been in the Paralympics for many years, but only for men. There simply were not enough countries fielding women's teams until now. So the first ever women's world championship is significant for the sport.

The U.S. beat Australia 8-0 today in Slovakia. But the coolest part is that two young women from the Cincinnati Icebreakers scored, and one of them was named player of the game! In her first competition as a member of Team USA! These young ladies are very inspiring, incredible role models, great friends, and have dreamed of a day like today for years. Not going to lie - I teared up when I heard about today's game.

(A young man from our team is also a member of Team USA on the men's side. He's one of the fastest sled hockey player in the world.)

Hockey practice starts in a couple of weeks. There is going to be one hell of a welcome home party.
