One year ago tonight, my son-in-law passed away from adrenocortical carcinoma. It is a very rare cancer that needs much more research and funding.
Many of you here supported me just by listening and caring and praying. We heard from so many it was simply overwhelming. One IU alum - Dr. Matthew Campbell - reached out to me and gave my family hope in the most horrific moments of our lives. He researches and treats this disease at MD-Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

Yesterday, I went to a baseball game with a long time friend. He told me his wife has just been diagnosed with breast cancer. The friend we went with lost his wife several years ago.
We all know someone.
So, in part to fulfill a promise, and just because it needs to happen, I am hoping you can fight cancer by donating a few bucks. I don't care how much. Even a dollar sends the right message.
If you want to honor my son-in-law, John Parker Kuhn, please give to MD-Anderson in his honor - tell them his name and direct your money to adrenocortical carcinoma research. I would be forever grateful, even if I never know.
Or give to St. Jude's. Or a breast cancer foundation in your hometown. Give to the V Foundation. Give to anyone anywhere fighting any kind of cancer.
We are winning a lot of these battles. We are still losing too many
Thanks, fellas.
