@snarlcakes I enjoy fine dining with a beautiful young lady across from me.  Agreeable meal.  Drink.  Dressed fittingly. Serving as a reminder how sexy TOXIC masculinity can be.  But I’m not taking my two poorly behaved children to an expensive steakhouse. Hard pass.  And if my potential date has children I won’t go.  I don’t want any chicks with baggage 🙏🙌🤝

@snarlcakes it isn't bad. Like I said, the noise is a big part of my problem. Longhorn is easier to talk to everyone and still far cheaper than Ruth's Chris.

It obviously can't happen any more, but I would go there for my birthday and, after he moved back, be there with a former IU basketball coach that had the same birthday.

I love Janko's, love Bynum's, buy if I am paying Longhorn is my go to price per enjoyment winner.

@arthur-dent I think you're the 3rd person in the last year who has said Longhorn is better than Texas Roadhouse.  I'm not sure I've eat at Longhorn.  I need to try it.

And as much as I tell them a family get together should involve us catching up with each other, a full roadhouse is louder than Memorial Stadium will be today, I get out oted, So we chew and chew our meat and pretend we can hear each other.

If memory serves, some years ago we arranged to meet my parents there for dinner. There was a short wait to be seated, but it was deafening even in the lobby. We bailed.

@arthur-dent we always get the chicken critters deal for the kids.  I get sick of pizza and it's a similar price.

I actually like Texas Roadhouse for the price.  I've been to too many high end steakhouses that are meh now.  I'm over paying 20 bucks for a side and 20 bucks for a drink to eat an 80 dollar streak I could make myself.

It's a good place for the prices.

The original Texas Roadhouse still exists in Clarksville, IN, which is the town next to my hometown. They must teach that in training because at least half the time the servers or bar tenders will know that. The others probably didn't pay attention in training.

Haven’t read this article yet, but how does this happen in a decent economy?

Jack Weis has applied to more than 2,300 jobs since he graduated from Princeton in 2024 with his Ph.D. in chemical engineering. He still doesn’t have a job.

@bradstevens

dude must have clammy hands

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) projects about 1,100 average annual job openings for chemical engineers through 2034, out of an overall national workforce of roughly 21,000 to 22,000 employed chemical engineers.

Don't eat that. I'm joking when I say I want you boomers to die.

Food snobs like you and JDB (Texas Roadhouse??? LOL) don't know what it's like for us poor bastards. We take our joy any way we can get it.

By the way, Texas Roadhouse has the best family deals.  For like 50-60 bucks you get a sh#t ton of food.

Longhorn>Texas Roadhouse

It is known.
