@jdb it is not public shaming. Do we as a nation have a problem that people believe there is a conspiracy behind everything? Yes. Is having the government say, "trust us, all is as it should be" ever a solution? I get CO's stance, he purposely doesn't want people to trust the government and this furthers that aim. Let's bring people in, grill them on national TV, and find out why nothing was done for 10 years. Why an investigation was ordered stopped. If it is incompetence, and I suspect that is probably it, so be it. But it may be that someone somewhere did something for financial gain. If so, show we aren't afraid to disclose it. Sunlight - disinfectant thing.

Congress is paid either way. Why would this cost a whole lot more? We don't pay witnesses millions do we?

And it should not end with the Clinton's. Public testimony of many including the US Attorney that ordered the investigation stopped is important.

I don't think the tangible cost is as much of an issue as the overall time and effort spent investigating past failings vs. spending money to improve the country. But, that's par for the course. Congress is nothing but political sheep these days with no will to compromise and push an "America First" agenda.
