He is a down stater and down staters are not going to win here. You need some suburban and even urban appeal. But look at the lengths he has to go to attempt to break with Trump. “Don’t criticize fatty’s”
His challenger Ted Dabrowski is from Wilmette. My old stomping grounds. Toney suburb 20 minutes north of the loop. He won’t talk about immigration and abortion because that’s fucking stupid to do for a Republican in Illinois trying to win a race. A pro-business, pro law enforcement, low tax message can still resonate.
