Goat, they're all liars and none can be trusted. Politicians are a self-selected class.https://twitter.com/EricLDaugh/status/1967650457268130262?t=WDeIyqVl3rpbJA9ZBI8DDQ&s=19
A couple of things. I'm not sure the 'data' he is quoting is accurate. There is definitely contrary information out there.
I'm also very worried about overreach here. Sure, crack down on violent rhetoric, but I highly doubt that any opposing view won't get caught up in what I'm guessing is a very wide net they're about to cast. Hope I'm wrong about that.
He's purposefully cherry picking the data to misrepresent what it says. Like when he compared "young" liberals to "young" conservatives. He did that because if you look at all liberals and all conservatives, it's actually the right that is more willing to accept political violence. But that's not good for his narrative, so he finds the subcategory where he can paint a different picture.
That's the danger of surveys. Anyone can find a nugget in there to tell whatever story they want.
You sure about that? Where did you get your data?

I thought I was sure, but now I'm not. I'll try to find the poll I thought I was referencing.
He's right about the reactions and situtations being completely different.🔥

He's part of the problem by harping on "your side" and "my side."
Like Trump, Charlie Kirk could not be bought.

Anecdotally, not a single neighbor I’ve talked to about this issue who is a Democrat (and that is most) has expressed any concern for Kirk or his family at all. It’s pretty astounding, really.
I'm intrigued. What are they doing or not doing that you find astounding? Are they just not strident enough in their condemnation of the killing? Or is there something more?
Not caring that a man was shot dead in front of his family for merely expressing his political views. Responding out loud with "Who cares?" or "I've got better things to think about" or "He held a lot of 'hateful' views."Anecdotally, not a single neighbor I’ve talked to about this issue who is a Democrat (and that is most) has expressed any concern for Kirk or his family at all. @bradstevens when it comes to politics 1) we don’t want the same things and 2) we don’t like each other.
compromise going fwd will be very difficult
@bradstevens Man, that's unfortunate! I'm around quite a lot of fairly far left people, regularly, and not a single one of them used those words, especially initially. It was pretty much all, "no one deserves that", "he had 2 young kids, awful"... Now, there has been some comments in recent days about people ignoring the awful things Kirk has said about certain people. But not one of the liberals that I know have expressed any happiness or anything towards his murder. I felt it necessary to post that... just like I've felt necessary in the past to post that the MAGA people, that I know, aren't doing/saying similar things the other way.
We are not the same.

Most of us learned at some point in our lives, at least if we were raised right, that saying the quiet part out loud will many times come with it's own contextual consequences. With social media being roughly 2 generations old now, I fear many people have either never learned this or have forgotten.
A good friend will bail you out of jail, but your best friend will be sitting next to you in the cell saying "that was f***ing awesome"

"I'm very worried about overreach here".
This made me laugh out loud...!
@dbmhoosier And Kirk turned down an offer to visit Israel from a Hamptons meeting. Could be Kirk was maybe about to change his views on Israel. Candace is on top of that and she and Kirk were best of friends almost like Brother/sister. So I expect she has texts and media such as email to that subject. The evil leader Bibi dude read only a blurb within hours after the killing apparently from a letter Kirk sent him. She wonders why didn't he read the entire letter. More podcast episodes on this to come.
