When, where, and how did this fashion start of labeling people demons or demonic? It’s been creeping into right wing speech for a couple of years now. Why?HI This is Murt calling with Armed Queers here in Salt Lake. For two weeks now you people have been promising to have our Hoodies ready! We sent you the artwork a month and a half ago.
The left lmao. absolutely insane people
They're demons. These people are absolute demons. I can't think of another way to describe them.

Seems a good way to dehumanize someone and justify eliminating them.
They’re both clearly mentally ill, I think.
@dbmhoosier that's a rough one. I never listened to one podcast by him or really liked him as an influencer, but I'll never understand the assholes gloating about his death. It's not hard to shut the f#ck up for a week.
I'm sorry. But I am having a hard time trying to understand how you don't like him as an influencer yet have never listened to to one podcast? Have you watched his YouTube videos of campus events? How did you form your opinion of him?
*not attacking. Sincerely wondering.

I worded my post poorly. I didn't dislike him. I just hadn't digested much of his content besides short clips popping up on X or reels. I knew the basics about him, but didn't follow him closely.

Comes from the MAGA Evangelical Christians. God vs. Devil. Christians vs. Demons. Us vs. Them.

If openly celebrating the death of an innocent family man isn't demonic behavior I don't know what is. If you listened to these people you would think they just won the Powerball.
There will be more arrests.

@dbmhoosier Its awful. Charlottesville folks have a little bit of Demon in them though, in your opinion? Quite a lot of death and pain celebrating going on in that faction of the Republican party. And yes, they're just as much a part of the GOP as the nutbag, demon, woke left folks you're posting about are on the left. And the ONLY reason I'm here bringing this up is I don't want people like you controlling any narratives for anyone outside your own echo chamber.
I've stepped away from this story for a few days, but this morning I'm seeing mentions of Groypers and Nick Fuentes...things I don't really know a lot about, but am reading it's to the right of Charlie Kirk and that he and Fuentes/his followers were at odds with each other.
So naturally, there's also some suggestion that rather than being a leftist, Robinson was a Groyper who had gone further right, rather than left.
But I'm trying to sift through social media and vet what I'm seeing and I wonder if that has been discussed in this thread or anywhere on the board? This thread has grown by about 16 pages since I bailed on it last week. Is there validity to this? Is everyone just throwing shit on the wall and has no clue but wants to assign blame to whomever they hate?

I saw that Fuentes stuff too. Also some pretty messed up stuff attributed to Laura Loomer. Apparently she thought Kirk wasn't MAGA enough. That said, I don't know what to believe. Lots of stuff out there.
One thing I saw over the weekend is that there are people who are doxxing people and actively trying to get them fired for anything negative they might have said about Kirk online. Some of the people who are doing this hold/have held public office. I do think anyone spiking the football on Kirk's assassination is way out of bounds, but not sure how I feel about public officials putting people on blast for saying something stupid and offensive.
To be honest, all of this is really turning me off toward politics in general.

I hate politics already. My son is a Public Policy major and has been headed towards that path since early HS and I hate that he's chosen that path. But he's passionate about it, so if he can find a way to not feel like he's working, but still gainfully employed, then I guess I can support that. But if not, it makes my stomach churn with all of the political bullshittery and lying and talking points and issue-avoiding and cow-towing to the highest bidders. Miserable.

Some people feel like something has been taken from them, that the people spiking the football are taking pleasure in their pain, (which they are) & want revenge. This is how they’re getting it. Why would the businesses feel it necessary to fire them?

To be fair, some people have said inappropriate/out of bounds stuff. I can't imagine feeling strongly enough about someone I don't know saying something horrible about someone else I don't know to look the latter person up and reach out to their employer. I've read some messed up stuff on social media from all angles, but for the most part I don't feel like I need to get involved.
Everything I've seen about Governor Cox (Utah) has been pretty positive, but I happened to check in on Facebook today and my MAGA buddies are suddenly not happy with him and insulting (to them) him by calling him an "old school traditional Republican" out of step with MAGA. I don't know where this comes from and still haven't read or seen anything to criticize him (much, there's always a little something) about - even from MAGA perspective. Can a MAGA in on this one explain why Cox is suddenly on the outs with MAGA or least some of them? Many of my MAGA friends (a lot of my former Sailors) are not just a little MAGA, they're hard core MAGA, and we have some of those here too.
