I’d be very surprised if this wasn’t anything more than a crazed gunman with a perverted sense of right and wrong.
We should know by now that early reports and speculation are incomplete and inaccurate in nearly 100 percent of these cases. We’ll know more in a couple days.
Pretty obvious kirk was targeted. Edit: Shot allegedly came from 200 yards. If true, obviously is a planned assassination. .

I am going to keep an eye on this thread. So far it’s OK. But I want to reiterate to be careful what information you post and where’s it’s from (goes for any incident that involves a life at stake).
You all know I probably lean left or am a moderate so I am not a fan of Charlie Kirk, but no one deserves that.

This country is a powder keg right now. The news is just a horror show from day to day. I have been on a self imposed mostly sabbatical from it but ignoring what is going on doesn't stop it from happening.
There is not currently one leg that holds up the stool that is not failing its job. If we continue down this path it is going to be bad for everyone. Another tidbit that was released with that "college free speech" report from FIRE that painted IU in a poor light was the fact that left or right, around 1/3 supported violence against speech they did not like (even if they thought it should rarely be used).

At this moment, motive doesn't matter in saying the suspect deserves the most severe penalty allowed.
But we do need to wait on motive. Remember Reagan? The motive had nothing to do with politics. It may be a crazed leftie, it may just be someone crazed. Nothing is gained wildly guessing.
