I did one in San Diego. This article made me think about it.
Kansas City area plane crash: 12 dead in Butler, MO plane crash
Obviously, our plane did not crash, but I think it was the same model of plane.
Yes, I enjoyed the skydive. It was a tandem with an instructor. I wanted to do a solo but all the requirements for doing that were going to take too long and I had a tee time at 1300. 😉
Nope. Never going bungee jumping either.

@aloha-hoosier Yes I did one in Australia about 8 years ago. It was also tandem but I had no desire to do it on my own. They didn’t tell us how much our ears would hurt afterwards. But it was beautiful scenery and super cool. Quite an adrenaline shot.
I've skydived twice. Both times in a plane very similar to that one.
I was supposed to go again two years ago. We were visiting Hawaii (the big island) and were scheduled to go in late June (my son and I). My son had reservations, but if you were ever going to do it, doing over Hawaii was going to be a spectacular view.
Turns out though:
1) The airport is on the very northern tip of the island. As in, the runway is about 50 feet away from the ocean (running parallel to the edge).
2) The target landing zone was a 20' circle located just to the south of the runway.
3) To the south of the airport was a significantly sized wind turbine farm.
4) Apparently the prevailing winds on the north side of the island in the summertime can get pretty heavy.
So yeah, they got the weather report that morning and cancelled on us. 20mph winds don't sound like much, especially when your descent is only 2 minutes long, but when your landing zone is 500 feet wide total with an ocean on one side and spinning turbine blades of death on the other (and they are absolutely rotating fast in a 20mph wind), that 20mph wind can blow you 3500 ft off course.
Yeah, it was probably the right call.

I'm thinking about doing it again around my 65th (not there yet) and doing it in Hawaii is an option. The view would be better than San Diego which was ocean in one direction and basically desert and urban sprawl in the other.I've skydived twice. Both times in a plane very similar to that one.

The winds are apparently much better in the wintertime, so if you are going to do it, plan accordingly.

Holy crap - that is insane! I wouldn't fault anyone in that video for immediately and totally shitting themselves.
Yep. I lived in Hawaii for a total of 9 years. They had a ton of rain this year. Kind of put a damper on my two weeks there in January. I got to play just three rounds and for one of them I had to play the back nine twice because the front was way too wet. My daughter and her boyfriend had a good time regardless. Scuba diving and hanging with my daughter's friends and cousins. One round of golf but the daughter realized she couldn't play when I took them to the range first. It was definitely best that she just drove her boyfriend's cart.I'm thinking about doing it again around my 65th (not there yet) and doing it in Hawaii is an option. Gravity can be thrilling and dangerous, even deadly. I did all my gravity experiments on a bicycle or on skis,
One of my best friends from HS tried to talk me into going through all the hoops to jump solo. He's been through all the service schools and is HALO and HAHO rated (trained?) and has jumped out of a bunch of perfectly good aircraft over land and water. I'm fine listening to the stories when I've been around his buddies with a beer at the fire.

Not just no, but hell no.
Flying is my one fear in life. I love roller coasters and been parasailing, but just can't fly. Absolutely nothing appeals to me about jumping out of a machine that I'm scared of in the first place. Not a good time.
At least you can change a tire. Not just no, but hell no.

Just for the record, everybody can skydive at least once.
