From the Littoral Combat Ships, which have been referred to as Lousy Combat Ships, that are already being decommissioned, to the new frigates, the Navy just can't get it right. They've canceled the new frigates for yet another class of ships that doesn't exist either. It's a real disappointment.

IMHO the primary goal of any navy should be coastal protection and force projection. A boat is a boat FFS, the principles are constant, focus on what we know about the platforms we already have (ie; ones that work) and modernize that instead of trying to reinvent the fecking wheel (boat).
A good friend will bail you out of jail, but your best friend will be sitting next to you in the cell saying "that was f***ing awesome"

I was among the faction in the Navy that wanted to modernize the Perry class frigates rather than develop the Littoral Combat Ships. I was XO of one of those frigates and it’s an excellent ship which could have relatively easily been made even better. Instead we went with the LCS whose concept of minimum Manning’s and replaceable mission modules never worked. The trimaran version has same cool capability which can be incorporated into future ships though.IMHO the primary goal of any navy should be coastal protection and force projection. It’s worse. He likely considers himself a Republican too. We should be on the same team as I’m sure we like most of the same policies, but Trump-loving MAGAs can’t stand Republicans who don’t love Trump too. It’s similar to religion to them with Trump as their diety and those in the same religion that don’t worship their dirty are heretics. He could be one of the MAGAs that don’t consider themselves Republicans at all. That group is 100 percent about fealty to Trump and don’t tolerate anyone that isn’t with them in that at all. His opinion on my service is irrelevant. I served my country was considered successful and retired. Then I got the first civilian job I interviewed for, was considered successful and retired as Chief Operations Officer. I enjoyed doing my job of leading people and working with difference makers on every level. What some anonymous ass thinks about what he can’t possibly know about means nothing.
