One of my predictions on the old board was that Trump would be faced with a large scale terrorist attack during his second term. Maybe not on the level of a 9/11 but potentially on the level of the Paris Attacks.
My theory was you practically beg for the formation of sleeper cells when you degrade immigration security like Biden did.
Here’s to hoping I’m wrong.
I’m not disputing the possibility of sleeper cells that have been here for years could exist. Most rational adults who remember 9/11 would agree that’s in the back of most people’s minds.
But God forbid a large scale terror attack happens, there is little doubt this administration will automatically blame the Biden administration, even if it’s proven the terrorists came within the last year.
I hope that day never comes to pass, but I would put money on an almost knee jerk reaction to blame the previous administration. And I rarely bet on anything.
Yes, this administration will blame the prior one, just like every President since I can remember. But, the facts matter. During the unfettered wave of illegal immigration under the prior administration, were there terrorists who got in? Did a bunch get in during the rush to take Syrian refugees in the early-mid 2010s?
But, the facts matter.
I agree that facts matter. If a terrorist attack happens, it doesn't automatically mean whoever perpetrated it has been in the country since the Biden administration, however likely it is.
Radicalization can occur anywhere, anytime. It doesn't have to be an immigrant. There have been plenty of attacks in this country by people who were born here and just logged on to the wrong social media website and started down the crazy-train-path.
I think the title and tenor of this thread probably ignores important context.
How's this for context?
Sorry I guess my criticism was unclear. I'm not questioning the quick assumption it was "Islamic" terror. I'm questioning the discussion of it as "just another everyday" happening as though it wasn't almost certainly triggered by a very specific newsworthy event.

Yep, we see that happening more & more with radical leftists…

Not sure I follow. It's a daily occurrence in this world where an Islamist attacks someone and kills people, hence the "another day, another attack".
I'll admit that the Iran attack may have motivated him to do something now, but I can't imagine he wouldn't have been triggered by other things.

Yes, we've seen it with right-wing loons, leftist trannies, etc. So it begs the question - what, if anything, are we going to do about it? I'm fine with stricter gun control laws. I'm in favor of re-institutionalization and for serious mental illness (including Trans) to stop being normalized. I'm on the fence about government oversight and access to people's lives, search history, etc., but growing more supportive of it because of this like this.
