@unclemark this is a pretty good article. There’s an inherent conflict(s). My gen who wants to make a living off the sport, parents who want to stay one step ahead of the jones and to that they need a team that wins, and winning before development.
private equity is interesting but they need to see a return and if 3 million play here and 30 make it to Europe I’m not sure how good of an investment it is.
the other thing is we don’t have an identity like Spain Brazil etc. you’ve got an English coach at fc Carmel and American at Lou fusz in stl a Mexican at the Texans in Dallas and Dutchie randomly at surf in San Diego. Oh and a German with the nomads. Our diversity is a killer
