Love watching the Tour De France every July.
The production value, the videography, especially the helicopter shots of the French countryside, are top notch imo
It amazes me how many crazy ass fans and supporters they get to line the stage routes to cheer on the riders.
Anybody happen to know of any former Little 500 race alums that have gone on to race in the Tour De France?

My crazy thought.
Have the 2026 TDF prolog in D.C. with a team time trial ending on the National Mall. A fitting tribute to the French for their part in our Revolution. Beats the the hell out of an MMA fight in the White House Rose Garden.
I loved watching it when Armstrong was dominating - before it was known that he was a cheater.Love watching the Tour De France every July.

Did you ride in the little 5? I did in the 60’s. With Dave Blaise and Steve Tesich.
I don’t know of any who rode the TDF. I was telling my son just last week about the Stetina brothers, Little 5 riders who rode in the Olympics and were on the U.S. pro circuit.
Interest in Road Racing and road riding has collapsed. Ride the Rockies was cancelled last year for lack of interest and they didn’t even plan it for this year. Sad.
No, I never rode. Been a fan of the TDF since from hearing and watching Lemond updates in the 80's.
My old man got me a high end road bike when I was 11 when mountain bikes were gaining popularity.
Worst gift ever for a kid at that age. I bet I spent $500 or more in total allowance over the years maintaining that SOB bike because it just wasn't meant for wear and tear of riding through suburban neighborhoods. Top speed was fast as hell though.
I’m guessing zero Little 500 riders have rode in the TDF. Just not in the same realm.
Tour De France record was set in 1940 by the German 7th Panzer division. And they were able to set the record with the entire French army and British expeditionary force trying to stop them.
Pussy ass bikers should take note.
