Saw an article about Shay Ciezki in the IndyStar where she said we have some really good players coming here out of the portal.
she also said this about the players leaving to enter the portal:"That's the way college sports work right now," Ciezki said. "You're going to see turnover. It doesn't mean there's something wrong with the program. It's just kids are moving on to different things and you see the priorities within those players. But I'm excited to see what the future holds for IU."
The article was written a week ago, so I would think we’ll hear soon who is coming here.

I have been annoyed at how slow the portal is this year. No real news. Until today it seemed more were still entering than leaving. It seemed the "do not contact" people should have signed quickly. I did see LeMendola signed with Miami OH.
Caffey decided to go back to Missouri.
She can't shoot.Caffey decided to go back to Missouri.
I am not sure why that matters, I just pointed out where she went. But since it came up.
She can shoot, she didn't shoot. I am convinced that coming into Moren's D first system is like going into Knight's in the old days, shooters lose confidence as they learn the D. Look up the stats for Cardono-Hillary, Scalia, and Ciezki. All went through a less good first year.
But she can shoot, below from IU's own website (bolding mine). The problem was not hitting shots; it was not taking enough shots. 41.7 from 3 is very good.
FRESHMAN YEAR (2025-26)
Started all 32 games … averaged 8.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game … shot 42.1 percent from the floor, 41.7 percent from the 3-point line and 81.3 percent from the free throw line
The new kids, as good as they might be, will be first-year in the system. We have had almost total turnover 2 straight years. It is hard to develop players like that. Maybe both years were flukes, just a law of large numbers thing. But we can't keep that up. As good as the new kids are, I don't expect them to walk in the door and fire away. It appears to me that isn't any more Moren than it was Knight.
Teri isn't going to have a choice but for her freshmen to shoot next year. She can't shoot.Caffey decided to go back to Missouri.

Nevaeh is a good player. I wish she had stayed. But she wasn't worth her asking price. And maybe you're right that she can shoot and just didn't, for whatever reason. But this team NEEDED her to shoot. And fellow freshman Makalusky put up almost 6x as many 3s as Nevaeh, so I don't think it's that Teri deterred her from shooting because she' was a frosh. Teams would literally not guard her in B1G play when she didn't have the ball in her hands.
Seems like a very nice portal haul. I’ll put together a big article when it’s all said and done
